Dr. Constantinescu grew up in rural Ontario within biking distance of both a hunter jumper and dressage barn where she rode as often as possible. As she got older, Laura was able to ride on the hunter Trillium circuit in Eastern Ontario.
Laura completed three years of a biomedical science degree at the University of Guelph prior to being accepted to the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph. While at Guelph, Laura participated in five years of neonatal foal care and was an active member of the equine and surgical clubs. She was able to attend the American Association of Equine Practitioners annual conference every year while in vet school to expand her knowledge of new and exciting treatments and diagnostics in the equine medical field.
During vet school, Laura worked in the Canadian Rockies as a riding trail guide, in Waterloo, Ontario as a riding coach, and with veterinary computer software company LifeLearn. In her fourth year, Laura streamed equine, and was able to take special rotations in joint injection, anesthesia, surgery, and travelled to the University of Pennsylvania to complete a rotation in their neonatal intensive care unit.
