We want to thank Dr. Hurwitz for all her hard work this past year and wish her all the best in her future endeavors!
Dr. Hurwitz is from south eastern Massachusetts and is looking forward to spending her internship year at OakenCroft. Carolyn and her Mom always shared a love of horses, and one day a surprise visit to the local barn turned into years of riding lessons. Carolyn enjoyed riding for the Villanova University equestrian team during her undergraduate years and is looking forward to getting back in the saddle and trying something new! She is excited to learn to ride western and aspires to work cattle someday with a scrappy black and white pony to match her beloved collie dog, Barley.
Carolyn decided to pursue a career as a veterinarian after working on an organic farm in the southern Berkshires. She really enjoyed working with all farm animals and with farmers and hopes to someday run her own small farm. Most recently Carolyn worked at Potter Hill Farm in Grafton, MA while attending veterinary school.
Besides a love of working with animals, working on farms also inspired a love of food, and Carolyn can often be found cruising the local farmer’s markets or home perfecting her pie crust recipe. While she is still excited about all aspects of veterinary medicine, Carolyn’s particular areas of interest include reproductive medicine and ultrasound.
